Rolex Day-Date

Volgens de Rolex site: "In 1956, the Rolex Day-Date made its debut. Available only in 18k gold or platinum, it was the first wristwatch to display the date and day of the week spelt out in full in a window on the dial. With the President bracelet, originally created specially for it, the Day-Date continues to be the watch par excellence of influential people". That DD came in only one size (36mm) but in many forms and shapes. Bark, diamonds, wooden and stone dials, anything was possible. The plexi models always have 4 digits (1803, 1802, 1804, 1806 etc). With the arrival of the sapphire glass there was one digit added (18038, 18239 etc) and these current days it are the 118238s that lay in the shops waiting for their new presidents. And in the years they have become larger. New there are a small fortune, but second hand and used they are pretty affordable. Much watch for decent money. The DD has been worn by presidents like Sonny Crocket, Tony Soprano, Klaas Bruinsma and Sylvie Meis. When there is a price with a watch in this section, it is still for sale!
